I'm referring to Sundays Top Gear. Do the BBC, which bills itself as very PC, think they are well esteemed enough to drive through deep south Alabama with slogans daubed on cars that are detrimental to the fundamental beliefs of the people and remain un-scathed? The sheer arrogance and stupidity of the producers of Top Gear could well have ended up in their presenters and crew getting seriously hurt. It was nothing more than irresponsible shock-effect television.
Maybe the BBC will make the presenters of Top Gear drive through Bradford with 'Halal meat is rubbish' or 'Mohammed is gay' written over their cars. or would this be non=PC?

Top Gear isn't a motoring show any more, it's just a chance for 3 over-paid people to try and prove how big their egos are. By the way, I'm sure the lynch mob scene etc was a set up.
I stopped watching Top Gear many moons ago when it became an ego trip for Clarkson and co.
They behave as if we're all millionaires, and the studio audience seem to be full of yuppies too. One show, Clarkson asked the audience if they'd be seen dead driving the new Porsche Boxter!.....they just about said to a man nooooooo!
Er... the BBC doesn't "bill itself as very PC", as far as I know. Still, it makes a change for someone to complain that they're not PC enough!

The BBC is the champion of multi-cultural society and intergration, which is PC enough for me. Yes, tbh I thought it may've been a set-up. Other than that, the whole hour was fairly pedestrian and un-eventful. The ridiculous challenges added nothing to entertainment value. They managed to cover driving through Alabama, Mississipi and Lousiana in about 10 minutes. Pointless.
Ahhh but Hamster is loovely!
It was a set up
Am i the only one who is gonna defend top gear t.v. has become the new opiate for the masses who cares if some of its trash t.v.

is there an official source to prove it was a set-up? I wouldnt mind looking it up.
Its a top class programme. If you don't like it, dont watch it!!
I think it an absolutely fantastic programme! Hi light of my tv week!
As it has been said, theres more then one channel, if you dont like it, dont watch it.
im sure if you hunt there will be evidence of it being a set up just as the caravanning episode was. That was hilarious too

I thoroughly enjoy TG and i found it to be highly amusing last week. Cant wait for sunday to come around again, didnt they mention something about building rockets in this weeks episode.
Are the BBC going all 'channel 4' on us?
Yea Red! Turning a Robin Reliant into a rocket and trying to launch it i think it was!!
I didnt really enjoy Tg on sunday and I think it was an unwanted deviation from their otherwise brilliant show. Despite that, I still think TG the best piece of British programming in a long while.
It stomps all over the rest of the garbage that pollutes the airwaves at the moment.
I must admit I enjoyed it tremendously, I always enjoy Top Gear. I dont watch programmes that I dont enjoy and if a programme harms my sensitivities I just prefer to switch channels. I have complained about some programming before but it takes a fair amount of conviction.

Can you name any programme on TV that doesnt contain overpaid egotistical presenters or faux celebs?

Actually Ofcom received 10 complaints about that particular Top Gear programme, whilst 81 complaints were made directly to the BBC.

However, all the complaints were about the dead cow. I guess that was more important than those sensitive yeeha yankee souls.
Top Gear is aimed at a certain audience. My sons love it and think they know all about cars because they can quote all the specs. If you don't watch Top Gear your masculinity may be questioned. I'm not bothered- I'm a female who has been driving for 27 years without problems...like minis and nissan micras because they are fun to drive (Safely) and cheap to run/insure.
