Generally speaking 1455-1487. And it's Wars plural, as peace broke out several times.
Surely they ended in 1485 with the Battle of Bosworth? After that stage there weren't any Yorkist claimants left (unless the Princes in the Tower were still alive, but Henry wasn't going to re-legitimise them)!
Strictly speaking there were several civil wars in England between 1455 and 1485 so it should be called the Wars of the Roses.
ok I suppose....but there were pretenders, and people willing to back them after bosworth. Perkin Warbeck and Lambert Simnel being too. The violence didnt really settle till well into Henry's reign, after he rewrote history a bit.
I'm studying English History and I have a mess with kings!I'd need a summary about them I'm really confused.I'll be pleased If you help me. Thank you very much
