Neighbours - Bree & Ann
7 Answers
Have only just started watching Neighbours again and am a bit confused with Loris' confession about switching Bree and Ann at birth.
Is Ann the same Ann as went off with Billy or is this a different one?

Hi Jenna - further to previous answers, I can only say that - and I'm a diehard Neighbours fan, I'm confused, too.
The Neighbours scriptwriters/producers are often gulty of altering storylines and giving characters a personality by-pass to suit their needs and lend the plot a bit of a zing or when an actor has broken his contract (Joe Mangel) or wishes to leave to pursue a more lucrative career (Flick,Charlene). I think the producers hope we won't notice and won't ask too many questions!
What puzzles me is that when Bree first began her search to find her 'real' mother, she visited a maternity hospital where a distraught nurse admitted to there having been a mistake and Bree and Ann were swapped at birth.
Why, when the mistake was uncovered, it wasn't resolved there and then isn't clear. Nor is it clear who did the swapping.
It is a psychologically unsound argument that Loris would have done it as a revenge on Janelle - after all she already had three children. It would have been more of a hardship for Janelle to look a after a blind child.
Maybe there was a mix-up at the hospital and then Loris swapped the babies again so that Bree is really Janelle's daughter after all. Or is that too much to expect?
Try a wikipedia search on Neighbours - there are lots of great links to past histories and future story lines in Oz.
Also a guide to who's leaving Neighbours - and there are more than you can shakea stick at! Good luck!
