Does anyone else have problems with SKY DD paypath?
I usually pay by Direct Debit but because there was insuffient funds in the account they cut me off. I rang them and told them that i would pay and they switched me back on. (why are all the operators scottish?)
this happened 11 days ago, anyway i lodged money into the account to pay the outstanding balance and to cover me for another year then about a half hour ago i heard screams from buzybee jr. they have switched us off again.
I rang them and they said they got no payment?
apparently once the account has no money in it they dont check it again? thats why they didnt get paid!?
Im confused??
Why does this happen?
Anyway being the blonde i am i said id sort it with the bank tomorrow no problem! (yeah hello they are closed now until monday) lol
G0d sake, my life is falling to pieces because the sky channels are gone!

Surely Sky shouldve advised you they wouldn't apply again, would they take a payment over the phone given the money is in the acount?
Does your bank not have a 24hr helpline that you can ring and give instructions ?
Sorry, don't mean to answer your question with questions, just trying to save your life!!

it happened this time last year aswell but i just topped up my balance and it was a-ok!! cant understand why they cant just check my account again and take the money out.
My banks helpline is no good, i might aswell be talking to a brick wall!
We dont have a credit card so we cant really do it that way.
Just wish it had of been during the week and not the weekend!

You can guarantee if something like this is gonna happen its always at the weekend!
I was thinking more of a debit card for the account sorry but realise now if this was an option you wouldve tried. They're a bit quick cutting you off, when do they intend requesting the money again cos I think the bank say its up to the company to do that not the bank just to pay it. Am sure they make it more complicated than it has to be.
My neighbour must have special powers every time he rings to cancel sky because he cant afford it whilst he has no work they give him a few free months, Id be like you, end up cut off!!!!

Sky's main call centres are in Livingston and Dunfermline in Scotland which is why the majority of the people who answer the calls will most probably be Scottish. Or at least this is the case if you call customer services , if you call technical support then your call is routed to India. As Sandyg said though , what is your point about the advisers being Scottish ?
No paranoia on my part , I assure you Pippa. I was just answering her question ..... and making an observation too. It's an odd statement to make and it doesn't seem to fit there. Not relevant. What has the nationality of the advisers got to do with anything ? I wasn't having a dig , just curious. :-)
LOL I know, enigma...just kidding you. What's a bit of ribbing between the Scots & English between friends?
:o)
buzybee must have thought that the call centre was in England and found it strange that all the operators were Scottish. MInd you, there are lots of Scots down here in sunny Sussex and it wouldn't have occured to me to ask that Q, but each to their own!

I don't mind ribbing Pippa. In fact , I never get offended at the Scotsman , Englishman type of silly jokes because it's just a joke and i'm not that easily offended. I laugh along with silly slaggings and usually give as good as I get but couldn't understand why the question of nationality should be relevant here. I used to work for the Student Loans company and you wouldn't believe how much abuse I took on the phone ........ just for being Scottish ! I had many calls where students/their parents moaned at the fact that they wanted to speak to someone English because they were sick of always getting 'Scotch' people on the phone. As the Student Loans company is based in Scotland , the majority of the people they would have had to speak too would have been Scottish. The worst of it is , I have a very clear accent. I don't have any regional twang and i've never had a problem being understood. I was even picked to be the recorded message (Thank you for holding , your call is in a queue , your call is important to us type of message) in one call centre I worked in so I was annoyed when one caller said to me "I can't understand a bloody word of your thick Scotch accent" I was too polite to correct her by informing her that Scotch is an alcoholic beverage and when referring to the nation of Scottish people , the correct term is of course Scots . God help her if she got someone with a really strong accent if she thought that she couldn't understand me :-)
I wasn't implying that Buzybee was being insulting towards Scottish people , I just wondered what her point was , whether she experienced language barriers , to which I would say that this can also be said about any regional dialect , or whether she was enquiring as to the location of Sky. The sun is shining , yes I know , a rarity for Scotland and I am happy. Roll on the summer :-)

Oh dear...let the lot of them live in ignorance, cliffsweb :o)
Sun was shining when I visited Lockerbie last October ~ beautiful scenery, lovely people (apart from one bloke who insisted the whole of England was flat, as he had been to Norfolk..and wouldn't be swayed ;o)
Being of Scottish descent myself (my grandafther was a Campbell..eeek) and born in England I get flack from both sides. Och, never mind!

Cliffsweb ? Are you changing my name Pippa hee hee. There are silly people north and south of the border. Poor you getting flak like that. Ah but who do you support during the word cup , hmm hmm ? I bet I can guess lol ! It's a silly thing for people to get so worked up over , isn't it ? I would have swapped with you in a heartbeat though during your recent snow flurry. My kids were desperate to build a snowman and have our usual snowball fights but we got nothing. Not a snowflake to be found. So the new sledge we bought is tucked away in a corner of the attic , longing to be used. You get all the best of the weather down south too. That's why you see kids here with shorts and t-shirts and frost bitten legs , playing outside at the flicker of any sun lol ! I think that Billy Connolly summed it up best when he said that his natural colour is blue and when he gets a tan , he turns white !
Sorry Buzybee. With regards to your original question , do you have any family members who could pay it off their debit card if you were to give them the money ? It's worse I think when you've got kids because it's hell without Nick Jnr , or at least it is with my kids. Peppa pig being the favourite and the telly is rubbish on terrestrial channels tonight. (Sorry , not trying to make you feel worse) Hope you get it sorted soon.

We had no snow ~ we had the south downs blocking it..4 miles further north it was coming down like billy-o!
Sorry to digress on your thread, buzybee. Glad you are getting it sorted. I am off now, as there is no way I am getting stuck between an Irish and a Scot..someome might tell a joke ;o)
