Hello all. Just wondering what all you lovely ABers do for a living ... also, what is the thing you like most about it and the one thing you'd most like to change?

Software Developer. I love the challenges of the ever evolving world of IT. New problems everyday. The satisfaction of solving these problems never dies. At the same time, keeping up with the changes is very difficult and the jobs market is very very competitive. The one thing I'd most like to change is everybody I know, or have just met, using me as their own PC support specialist.
Got my degree in Civil Engineering and built several roads, then got made redundant. Had always been a truck nut, so bought my first truck in '95. Since then I have driven all over Europe (Mainly Austria and Germany), but had to change tack when all the East European drivers started doing the job for half price. For the last 4 years have been owner/operator of an 8 wheel tipper working on muck away from sites and doing a lot of road planing. Get my new truck on 10th October (it will be better than Xmas!). Love the independance; hate the the people who think they know how to drive, but can't!
I'm a psychotherapist and hypnotherapist. The best thing is the fact no two sessions are the same and you hear all sorts of fascinating stories and meet all sorts of interesting clients. I'd like to see British businesses realise that a few pounds a week spent on a visiting counsellor would save thousands in sick pay as many staff would be helped before having breakdowns or similar stress related problems. I'd also like the government to give us a Royal Charter after studying for years and having no legal status at all unlike most other professions.
Tinker, Its name begins with T and the European HQ is in Leuven, Belgium.
Customer Services Advisor to a very large constuction training organisation, advising in training to become proficient and gain qualifications in driving heavy plant and machinery. Large talking on the telephone all day and giving people advice and have the best colleagues in the world. Hate having to sit down at my job all day and don't much enjoy dealing with rude and difficult people, although it does present a challenge.
construction!
For large read Like. Am drinking Bacardi and orange at the moment and am very tired after a day at work. Hence all the errors!
I am happy to say I am retired, but used to be a Civil Servant for my sins. The best bit about being retired is never having to ask for time off to go on holiday, the worst bit is never having enough cash to take more holidays! The pension is small and doesn't go nearly far enough! Also, another sadness is the fact that my dear husband died at age 63, before we had much chance to enjoy our retirement together.
Nice question psyphi! Meeting planner/webmaster for a pro-choice nonprofit in California. Like - great cause, and I get to work with passionate people. Also the work fits my control-freak/perfectionist personality. Don't like - doesn't pay well, and full-time work means I can't spend enough time with my partner and toddler.
