I've been watching this quite closely, find it really interesting!

So what would you vote GUILTY or NOT GUILTY?

(oh and Stan has to be one of the biggest fools i've seen on tv for aaaagess!!!)

I`ve not decided yet, but leaning towards guilty as there`s a lot of points that do not make sense on the defendants side. Dean mainly.

just been watching it expecting to see a disclaimer at the end .......... there was not one.

was this a real case ,real trial and real verdict ??

Pianoman81, This was a fictional case played out as a real trial by real Barristers, defendants and victim were actors.
I'm so glad they were found not guilty.

From experience, it felt real and I didn't want to see two lads who might be innocent, go to jail for 8 years.

the verdict was made on the evidence put before the jury. as I saw it, there was no evidence to PROVE they case.
melbur, if you felt sorry for the two guys, the possibility they were innocent, how would you feel if they actually were guilty?
You mention past experience....I won't dig for reasons you said that.

I was really upset and felt like crying when Anna started crying as the verdict was read out...

And my brotherwas like "why are u sad when it's a fake case?"

The answer is because thing's like this happen everyday...and it was extremely "real" to watch.

There is no way to prove rape unless there is strong physical evidence (brusing, semen, blood and signs of struggle). i personally thought the anal tear was pretty strong evidence myself but obviously not strong enough for the celeb jury to think he was guilty.

If i was there i would have said daniel was not guilty and james was guilty.

and i'm surprised Ann Summers lady didnt knock Stan out, i would've seriously been tempted. Such an arrogant, sexist, wife beating, horrible man. And Patsy was right when she questioned him asking

"why do you never argue in the victims case?"

and when she said "you had your mind made up before the evidence was given".

I certainly wouldnt have been able to cope with him.

If she was lying why not make it a better lie?

For instance - the girls, as well as making the tape, could have ripped the top Anna was wearing or made bruises or scratches on her body. They had several days to get a lie right.

And why lie about a third man? If anything it detracted from her case.

Not only Collymore but Megaman's behaviour was atrocious. All that had happened was the tape was played and his mind was totally clamped shut . Shouting at the tape machine , shouting everyone else down , calling peoples opinion "f***ing sh!t etc. What sort of behaviour is that. Not one ounce of compassion for Anna. Quite frankly I wouldn't be surprised if he believed she was raped , but that it didn't matter as much as those men getting their freedom.

Collymore and Megaman - bullies.

The 2 guys - guilty.

I thought that Verdict was a gripping programme but it will have put many many women off reporting a rape.

Johnizere, Thanks for your understanding comments that I can't expand further regarding my experience.
If I thought they were guilty I would want them to go to jail.
I felt sorry for Anna and other women who wont report rape for fear of not being believed, but it was all about proof of consent, there was evidence the lads were there but that doesn't mean they raped Anna.

I was FURIOUS that the hair evidence on the boxers was discounted. The only reson the scientist couldn't say if it was a pubic or head hair was because he never recieved contol samples of anna's head and pubic hair to compare against (I read his full statement off the BBC website)! If that's really how evidence gets submitted for forensic examination then there's no wonder the rape conviction rate is so horiffically low.

I would have gone for not guilty on charge 1 but guilty on 2, 3 and 4 as i don't believe she was raped the first time but I do think she was on the 2nd 3rd and 4th occasions. Why implicate James greer if they didn't know for sure where he was, what a right royal way to mess up your lie if he has a cast iron alibi, also, they already got the money so if it was a scam....why go to court?!

I don't think Stan collymore or Megaman could have portrayed themselves in a worse light, they were just horrible. I'd have been throwing things at them both. They infuriated me, mind you, so did Jennifer Ellison but all in all, fantastic show.
