Hores riding

Does any one know of any places on the sunshine coast between Morrochydore and Noosa that have horse riding schools or a place that I can go just to ride. I get annoyed going on trail horses that just follow the one in front of you and never trot and canter.

I wasn't going to get on the horse and go into a gallop that's for sure. I just wanted to do something more fun then walking on the horse. I'v just learnt to trot and I loved it! Now I want to give cantering a go.

presumably you are having lessons, if so, your instructor will teach you to canter when you are ready. But to be honest, cantering is easier than trotting, but take care.

I have never actually had lessons and I haven't even got a horse. I have only been on a horse about 6 times if you include these times. Four of them were just pony rides at a show and the other two were on my friends horse. My best friend at school has let me ride her horse twice. The first time I just walked on her but the second time which was 3 weeks later was when I first trotted. I've only ever trotted once so I really want to do more riding. She still has the halter on her horse though, just for safety and incase Ruby does anything silly. She hasn't so far though.

If I owned a horse or a riding school I am afraid I would want you to be a lot more experienced before I let you go off on your own - you need much more experience on horses that do follow each other. How would you cope if the horse you were on suddenly took off? Very experienced riders take a while to get used to new horses, and I would certainly not let a novice loose on a strange horse.

I certainly would never go off on a horse on my own. If someone offered for me to do so I would ask if they could come or if someone responsible would come too. I wouldn't ride if no one would come. Either that I would just ride around infront of the owner of the horse. I've been begging my parents if I can get riding lessons because I want to become more expirienced with horses, there is also a place near here has school horses available. I'd love to get a horse of my own but my parents said when I get a bit older.

I did a paper round when I was thirteen to pay for riding lessons as my parents could not afford to pay for them.

You could try advertising to see if anyone wants help mucking out/feeding their horse in exchange for an occasional ride. Some people have a couple of horses and would be grateful for some help and someone to ride with.

Thank you so much lankeela. I never actually thought about that. I'll have to talk to my paents about it and then I will put a notice on the bulletin board thing in town. Thanks again for the advice.
