Ignore the first answer - if you do format the drive you will lose everything and have to reinstall everything.
Now what you can do: Download and install Unlocker from http://ccollomb.free.fr/unlocker/ when you install it, it will put an entry in the context (right click) menu. Now find the file you cant delete and right click on it then left click on Unlocker, it will list all programs that have the file locked (so that it cant be deleted), now select Delete from the menu in the bottom left hand corner and click Unlock All. It will unlock the file and delete it (at least it has always worked for me, I have never had a file it cant get rid of). End of problem.

The Mack is being an idiot. You don't want to format the drive. You'll lose everything... all your work, files, Windows, etc.
First, try restarting the computer then try to delete it. If that doesn't work then try deleting it from safe mode -- as windows is starting up you press F8 or similar (it may say at bottom of black screen when it's just starting up).

I have had this same problem before and each time there were different solutions to delete the file. I've renamed it then deleted it, moved the file to another location then deleted it, open the folder delete the contents inside then delete the folder, create a new folder somewhere put the undeletable file in it and delete the new folder. Give those a try.
come on dude
why does it cost me money?
The losses suffered through software piracy directly affect the profitability of the software industry. Because of the money lost to pirates, publishers have fewer resources to devote to research and development of new products, have less revenue to justify lowering software prices and are forced to pass these costs on to their customers.
And why is it stealing?
stealing is the illegal taking of someone else's property without that person's freely-given consent
because it illegal under present copyright law?
what?? are you saying its ok to steal just incase that law changes.
just because its law does'nt mean it's right.
no your quite right lets all rob each other.
seriously who is the idiot?

Just a quick one to add...the next time you are deleting make sure you are not connected to limwire...because you are file sharing the file you are trying to delete might be locked cos another user on this "peer-to-peer" network is downloading the file from your machine at the time...hope that helps
