On reading assumptions made by car insurers, there is an assumption made that you are not a home owner, and that you do not have access to or use any other cars within the household, is this the same for all insurance groups

I'm not sure about the answer to your question but my car is insured for me with the wife as named driver, and hers is insured for her and me as named driver, although the two cars are insured with two different insurance companies.
