How can I get a courier flight from London to New York, one-way?

I am looking to get a courier flight from London to New York on July 1st 2002. Which companies should I go to in order to get a courier flight? I've tried looking on the internet, but there doesn't seem to be anywhere, also I've tried some airline companies websites, and they don't have information there either. Another thing is that I would like to try and get a one-way ticket to New York rather than a return since I'm unsure of the exact length of my backpacking trip. I also understand that I can only take hand luggage, this is not a problem since everything will be in one backpack.
