Golf 2.0 GT TDI Engine Warning light "Garage Emmisions!"

Whilst driving home tonight.. With less than 5k on the clock, a warning message "Garage Emmisions!" has appeared with the engine warning light permanently on. Anyone had this happen to them? is it anything major? (so soon!!) :-(

Didn't you get an owner's handbook with the car. It will tell you in there what all the warning lights mean. Good luck.

In this case it was a faulty sensor in the coolant system. Someone else suggesting an additive they put in the fuel was another cause. The car at only 5K is perhaps still under VW warranty.
