i went to the gp to have my coil removed which they were unable to do as it was very painfull. ive had the coil for nearly 3 years. which when i had it they said that it would only last for 3years. so does the coil have to be removed when the 3years is up
It is dependent upon the type of coil you have. If the type you have is recommended by the manufacturers for removal after 3 years, then it should be done as it may not be as effective.
Your GP may refer you to the local family planning or the local hospital if they are unable to remove it in the surgery. A discussion with your GP is necessary to find out what they intend to do.
