Dishwasher Problem

Just bought a house with a dishwasher built in. After the cycle has finished, there is about 2 inches of water left in the bottom which never drains away. Any ideas what the problem could be?

Have you checked that the filter is clear?

Also, check that the pipe leading to the waste pipe (usually via the u-bend under the sink is clear and not twisted.

I pulled out what looked like a filter and it was clear.
