Kin

My wife seems to think that kin is a slang or children's word for kitten she used as a child. Has anyone else ever heard of this?

No, but I`ve heard it used as a shortened word for f**king,

as in `kin hell`

I can't find it in Chamber's - but weirdly enough - kin - is another name for a Japanese and Chinese weight also known as a .... wait for it ..... a CATTY !!!

i'd agree with jno's definition.
she may have heard it said that way and didn't realise that there were letters almost unpronounced
