Something's biting!

My daughter and I are being bitten by something!!!! My dog and two cats do not have fleas but something is biting us. The bites itch but not as bad as a gnat bite and there are quite a few of them. Any ideas? Is it just that time of year? It's been quite mild maybe 'bitey things' are waking up early?

fleas live in carpets,try a household flea spray especially in the corners

could be bed bugs - and they're a pain to get rid of....
(could've brought them back with you from holiday or somewhere, known to in luggage)
