it's very easy to get into a routine of your freetime/social life revolving around drink.after having to become teetotal due to being pregnant after becoming this way was a real eye opener for me.you don't need to drink(get drunk)every time you go out and it's quite a shock to see how people including my friends act after a few drinks when you are watching stone cold sober.i'm personally very relieved i became pregnant when i did,not sure where that lifestyle was leading.
I drink way too much when I go out. I am incapable of going out for a quiet drink, incapable of not having a shot of tequila or sambucca with every pint/bottle, incapable of having just a glass of wine.
I never used to drink at home but now I do, not every night but I do. At home I drink in moderation (mostly).
I am quite happy getting drunk, no idea why, always have done.
I drink when i have the day off the next day, but lately that hasn't been very often, In the last month i have drunk a quarter bottle fo vodka with diet pepsi and a half bottle of vodka with diet pepsi. I know this because my son does the recycle bins and he told me I have drunk less this month than in the past 12 months, but that is only because i haven't felt like having a drink either.
I can't remember the last time i drank - maybe my 16th birthday. I am not one of these teenage mams who think 'to hell with it, i'll drink'. I wouldn't want me foetus to get an alchol related disease.
Nowadays I can take it or leave it...Can't stand smokey pubs so like the occassional drink at home....Might venture out more when smoking is banned...
Good on you missyR...wished I'd been more responsible in my younger days.. when I was pregnant ...
