I think he is a brilliant mimic but not funny at all. I like the way he thinks we are intrested in his political views - we are not

who's 'we'? and why shouldn't his political views be as interesting, or as uninteresting, as anyone else's? Most TV sets and remotes have handy switches for changing channels or switching off, for the use of the easily offended.

see how the labour faithful will rise and villify Mr Bremner who is the foremost and most erudite of all political satirist of our times. He has been the shining light when all other satirists trembled in the wake of this Blair governments forays into illegalities. He has in rapid fire jokes single handedly destroyed all credibility that this shamelss governments and all its apologists (including the first poster who avoids contributing to the news section but jumps at the chance to espouse his views on Mr Bremner in one single unfunny line) ever had. Channel 4 and Rory Bremner have exposed your corruption repeatedly for years. You may as well all go and hide your shame elsewhere. Oh by the way...Mr Bremner will never get a gong...hurray.....

Yours is an interesting reply to a question about Rory Bremner's act and not his politics.Can you tell me which psychic power you possess that lets you know the political persuasion of the first three responders.As for myself there is no way that I'm a labour supporter. I simply cannot understand Rory Bremner's success.
Incidentally,if his political view is shared by as many people as you think why have we still got a Labour Govt.after 10 years.

Should you care actually to read the question, Dom, you will see that it refers to an "act"...ie a piece of (supposed) entertainment. Personally, had I been the questioner, I would have put it in the sub-category dealing with TV, but - since it appeared here - I obviously responded to it here. There is no news element involved at all, which is why I felt free to comment.
I've previously informed you that I visit the News category in precisely the same spirit as Victorian toffs visited the mental hospital, Bedlam...ie for a laugh. That's still true...and there I shall leave it.

I feel obliged to butt in here and explain that my original question referred to Rory Bremner's "act "and not his self-assumed role as a propagandist.However the responses have been lively and that is what this site is all about.Long may it continue.

Dislike Blair and dislike Bremner - do like Fortune & Bird though. Rarely watch the program to be honest.

I find Bremner, Bird and Fortune can make some very good points and often quite cleverly but he aint in the least bit funny.

He was on Sunday AM yesterday and he kept dropping his impressions into the conversation and it was just cringe worthy. But then all impressionists for that.

But at least his impressions are better than that bloke that can only do Richard Madely and David Beckham (badly).
