I live near the Reading festival site & there were fireworks going off until 3 this morning. Isn't there a new law regarding this?

i note in that link that it says 'Exceptions have been made to the ban for major events' - Reading may fall under this category

Not likely that there will be an exception. The draft regulation listed Diwali, Chinese new year, New Years Eve and bonfire night as the only exceptions. This is down to the Police to enforce this, I expect the Police won't even know that they have the power to act judging by their claims in East Sussex about various different scenarios where they claim that "there's nothing we can do".

The licence for the festival music is only till 11pm. I suspect the fireworks came from the festival goers whilst siting around their camp fires and tents after the music had stopped. There is a law against it but it will be hard to determine who did it.

Oh come on. I live in Reading too and I love the great free concert that we get every year. A lot of other noise is the small price that we pay.

its only once a year,the same as bonfire night.new years eve etc.the new law states we can let fireworks of everynight till eleven o,clock.now that would be annoying???

I love fireworks...I'm not a spoilsport! I just had a headache on that night & needed some sleep. I turn into a right bitch if I don't get a decent Zzzzzz.
