teething at 6 weeks old!! is this possible?
8 Answers
My sis thinks her baba may be teething because she is flushed, fretful, and gnawing on her fingers a lot.
she was born with a full head of thick black hair about an inch long, so is it possible that teeth could come earlier?
i know it has happened on rare occasions but how likely is this, and how can she tell - will the teeth be able to be seen or felt?
thanks

they can be born with teeth on the odd occasion!!!
My number 2 had loads of hair which everyone commented on but no teeth till 13 months so I dont think that a link.
You can feel or see them eventually but not till the last day or so.
If your sister worried see the gp in case it not teeth.
Number 2 seemed to be teething for ever but number one had 2 upset nights then a tooth would appear then normal till another 2 upset nights few weeks later when another appeared and so on. It was great.

Do you know what I think - I think that you don't always know the reason that your baby cries. There can be many reasons - just tell you sis to comfort her lo and spend lots of time with her. She probably gnaws on her fingers because they are the only toy she has that she can keep a hold of! She may be flushed because she is fretful one will cause the other. Tell your sis she is doing a great job and just to keep on doing it. Louise
Like lilacbens daughter, my son had two teeth by the time he was 12 weeks old. A friend of mine's newborn daughter bit her nipples before it was discovered she had been born with a tooth.
I would say that it is possible to be teething at 6 weeks...although the teething process can take a very long time!
I would be inclined to see the HV or GP just in case it is something else though, joko.
