Do you think it's fair that a man should be convicted of rape if the woman is too drunk to consent? What is too drunk anyway, I've known plenty of people who've had a bit too much and behaved out of character, but they would never consider it it be rape. Where should we draw the line? (And incidentally, should a woman be convicted if the man was drunk? Why do you never hear of that happening???)

you have hit the nail on the head with your last bit.rape is a very grey area and i think the law is too much on the females side.why can a woman who has cried rape falsely not be named but the accused can and as we all know, mud sticks.all these rape groups keep bleating on about the lack of convictions and the accused being found not guilty.does it not occur to them they were found not guilty because they did not commit a crime?rape is not to be taken lightly and when you read about genuine ones it really sickens and disgusts me and i cant thinks of many things that are worse.you have to take some involving drink with an open mind,as how can it be that because you have sex with someone that is drunk, who apparently cannot be trusted for their actions but the drunk man can be held responsible for his.if this is the case,i have been raping my better half for 14 years.
the law is on the females' side? As far as I know the conviction rate is so low it's practically invisible. And if you don't want to be convicted, try having sex with sober women (if they don't want you, try improving your chat-up lines.) Women seldom bother trying to rape drunken men, for some reason, can't think why, which may answer the last question.
oh so now its seems the female should not have sex if she is drunk???????try telling them that wherever i go out drinking.also jno states that women hardly ever rape drunken men.i can also state that the same goes for men raping drunking women, hence the reason for"practically invisible" conviction rates.
Hmmm, a woman wont get done for rape as the guy cant get an erection unless he is turned on. As if a guy is gonna complain about getting raped off a girl anyway...
True Mr Ben

What if they are both drunk....what happens then
Actually the thing Mr Ben says about erections isn't true. It's a purely physical response to stimulus ( the Nazi's did extensive research on it in WW2) and an erection in no way implies consent or enjoyment.

Don't you think that the way we view sex portrays men as maniacs who are always up for it, and women as shy timid creatures who hardly enjoy sex at the best of times, and cannot be held responsible if they do sleep with someone? Souldn't the women have some responsibility for their own bodies? (I'm not saying that 'real' rape isn't a terrible crime, only that much of this drunken 'rape' is probably as much the woman's fault as the man's). But the problem is, how do we enforce any law concerning it? Fair enough, just because a woman is being provocative doesn't mean any man has the right to have sex with her, but how does the man tell if she wants sex or not?
it is not really the ones that are being provocative that are the problem = its the ones that are asleep or unconscious, and wake to find some man groping or having sex with her - or worse not wake at all until the next morning, but have 'evidence' that someone has had sex with them - especially if they have spent most of the evening fending him off.
Shoot them all, im sorry but if you're too ****** to figure out whether you want sex or not that's your bloody problem, for instance all these girls that are blatantly under age but where the most revealing clothes (or none at all) and that get absolutely smashed- well whos problem is that???? If these cases get to court and it turns out the woman or guy was too ****** to remember, throw the case out and put the charges on the person that was too mind blanked to remember what they did to cry wolf
Absolutely. If a woman is incapable of giving consent then it is rape. If a man takes advantage of this situation then he is a rapist. No questions asked.

If a woman takes advantage of a drunk man it's not rape. If a man is so drunk he's incapable then he's exactly that...incapable. He can't get 'excited' if drunk so it isn't rape.
Also I think it's sick that the conviction percentages are so low. It's disgusting.
