Working in Europe

Out of curiosity, how easy would it be to find a job in another European country such as The Netherlands, Sweden or Denmark whilst only being able to speak English?

when i was 18 i went to denmark as a live in nanny, not a word of danish, but my "family" paid for me to have classes every day for a month while little person went to nursery. I became quite fluent and 20 years later i still have a smattering of understanding and quite a few friends that i keep in touch with.
i got the job through the Lady magazine and it was quite easy to do.
