once it did to me... i wasn't too bothered about him but i was a bit miffed as to why he'd scarpered - and we were only having a chat, there had been no obvious hint that this would go further - turned out he was a jehovahs witness, and a virgin and he hated it, he constantly got himself into 'almost' situations and then bottled out.

turns out i know his sister and she told me all about it.
