barking dogs!!!!
does anyone know the position relating to keeping dogs in an outside pen in a residential area.
we have 2, possibly 3 dogs in a pen two doors away from us & they bark 24/7.
We have approached th owners politely & always get an apologetic response but no solution to the problem.
Our council advise that the can take action for the noise but we feel this would take forever. I dont think that they are being neglectful but the pen is not covered & they are out ALL the time.
ANY HELP PLEASE

This must interfere with your legitimate use of your land, as it obviously does, the law is more easily applied if a nuisance is caused to more than one person and/or if a notice to the accused (dogs owners) has previously been made.
This happened to my parents and they were advised to keep a note of the hours and dates that the dogs barked, which they did, and passed it onto the council.
The council approached the owners and the dogs were moved to a farm straight away, without the owners ever knowing who reported them.
It all took a couple of weeks so I would say stick with it!
