I remeber reading - maybe in Focus (UK Edition) - about a guy who reckoned that the apparently random gibberish included in spam was communications from ETs. He has charted the content of spam from its early days and claims to have deduced pattern showing that these aliens are using spam to manipulate human behaviour. It is so bizarre it is actually compulsive reading. This person has set some sort of organisation to decpher it as well. I will look in my back-issues tonight and post a link if I remember.
