Liner paper
When I decorate my sons room,he doesnt want wallpaper,he wants the walls painted but we all know that this can show up the wall's imperfections.
I have heard about liner paper. Is it any good and is its intention to be painted over to achieve a better result ?

Just make sure the paste soaks in thoroughly before you hang it to avoid blisters. It helps to paste the wall as well, making it easier to position the paper by sliding it about.
I'm a decorator & i've hung hundreds of rolls of liner. I'm sorry to contradict heathfield... If you are hanging liner to paint over, I use good quality liner bought from a decorators merchant, they use virgin paper, & the finished result looks far better. It also 'holds together' far better, & doesnt tear easily then pasted. As jules said, liner is only as good as the surface it's going on to.
BTW the liner I use is Graham & Brown 1200 grade.
