I an 50 years old and have had a really awful 15 months nursing my terminally ill daughter. Before she became ill I was very active and ate well. During her illness I became very sedentary and ate poorly. I now have gained almost 2 stone and am very out of condition and fat. Where do I start?

I totally sympathise, you have put your daughters health and well being before your own, and now you are feeling down and out of shape.
Speak to your doctor, I assume he is also your daughter's GP. Tell him your worries and I'm sure he will arrange for you to see a NH dietician for free.
Once you have established a healthy eating regime, you will find you have more energy to start burning off those extra pounds.
You may even find there is a local support group or excersise classes, also free of charge. I really hope so, nobody deserves it more than you.
