Airlines obviously have the usual Economy, Premium Economy, Business and First Class, but you can often have several codes for each class of travel. The code will change depending on the type of ticket purchased. For example, whether you have booked the cheapest fare there is (often where no changes can be made to the booking) or fully flexible (where you can make changes, obviously meaning that your ticket will cost more).
I hope that makes sense!

You're in 'Cattle Class'. Most airlines used to use 'Y'. (Presumably because the next letter, 'Z', would put you in the cargo hold). But these days different airlines use several different letters for ticket type designations. Read more here.
yeah staying with a friend which works out cheaper. Qatar were selling promotional seats for about a week until feb 28, for around 180-90 direct with them but I got mine from http://www.airline-network.co.uk/
You need to sign up with them and every week they send you e-mail alerts on pretty good deals, I recommend them. They were the cheapest at 172 from gatwick and thats weekend flying in and out!
The other airline running promotional seats (not sure if theirs also finished on the 28th feb) is gulf air even cheaper at 159 via www.opodo.co.uk.
I prefer spending a little more to fly with Qatar though!

All airlines have varies fares in Economy and these r shown on the ticket as different letters.
F, A and R are normally shown for different fare types in First class this depends on the fare they paid F = full fare First class
C, I and D are normally shown for Club Class.
Y = full fare Economy with most of the other letters in the alphabet as sub Classes.
normally the lower down the alphabet ie WX will be the cheepest seat they sell and u will have no flexibility on that ticket.
