Obscure IT jobs
2 Answers
Well, so to speak....
I'm just taking my GCSE's (woo) and plan to take an A level IT course. I (apparently) have some talent with anything IT related, and I was wondering about any jobs in IT that wouldn't be found easily on Google.
Errr, I'd enjoy a job working with people, something challenging and enjoyable (wouldn't eveyone).
Oh I'm predicted a B/A in ICT at GCSE
Thats about it....

Only thing is, that tends to be a bit basic and if you're one of those who likes to get down and dirty with the real technical stuff, you might find it challenging in the wrong way.
There's always technical support, either via a helpline or actually going out and sorting out users' problems. Most local authorities and large organisations have teams of them with all sorts of specialists interests (we, for instance, have a technician that deals with issues relating to the specialist database we use). I used to know one guy whose job was going around large supermarkets fixing all their POS systems faults when they went wrong - he used to do his grocery shop whilst he was at work.
