Recently I have been noticing alot of water coming into the passanger side footwell of my skoda felicia. It appears to be coming from just behind the glove box and dripping down. Ive investigated under bonnet ect and cannot seem to see where it is coming from. Its obviously rain water not any other fluid. Any ideas please on where the water could be coming through and how i could stop it. Thanks.
are you sure it's rainwater, normally if the heater matrix leaks it will leak into the passenger side. put your heater on, if it mists up you've found your problem. also if you touch it with your finger and just dab it on your tongue and it tastes funny its antifreeze.
Antifreeze in the water will taste sugary - dont be drinking it -
Possibly a leaking winscreen seal.
The likes of Autoglass or similar company will be able to remove the screen and re-seal it for a fee.
have you tried hosing it down and finding out exactly where it is coming in above the foot well, also lift the carpet up and look to see if there is any rubber gromets missing from under the matt I had that trouble with a nissan.
like i said... just touch your tongue with your wet finger dont drink it, gargle it or rinse your contact lenses out in it,then wash and dry your hands and put one in your pocket whilst scratching your head with the other thinking '$hit how much is this gonna cost?'
Hi, thanks for your replys it is definatly not antifreeze, also thanks but i would not be so daft as to drink it, on a good day any way!!
Drive it in the dark i know does nothing 4 street cred. Dad gave it to me after some prat wrote my car off. Good car other than that.
Good suggestion have no sunroof and radio ariel is at rear of the car. I have had a look and dont believe its the windscreen either ( could be wrong though ). Heres hoping it stops raining!!!
Rain will always get under the bonnet by getting in the air vents. There is a drain in the scuttle panel below windscreen and under the bonnet. Pound to a penny it will be chocked with leaves or other crap. Water builds up as it cant escape then over flows into footwell.
