i am trying to download windows media player but cant as it asks to validate my computer and when i do it then says my windows is not genuine when it is and it says something about bloked by a license volume key...help

Did you buy the PC with Windows XP pre-installed and if so, does it have the authenticity sticker on the side of the PC ? Clearly, as far as Microsoft is concerned, you do not have a valid key
