I've recently bought an attic flat. The stairs leading up to it are mine and i want to put the front door directly at the bottom of the stairs to open outwards. Is this legal? Who do I need to get permission from? Help!!!

You'll have to check your leasehold agrement to see if this is allowed. It might not be for all sorts of reasons - fire hazard, etc.
Sounds okay. Bear in mind the above and check with your local authority building control officer. You have not made it clear if it would be an external door or one that opens onto a communal area. That makes a difference. All in all, possible though.
i think you have to put a fire door in?i cant see why anybody would object.its your stairs.unless your liable to knock someone out when you open it.
