Freezing chillies does not kill the heat - I keep a bag in the freezer all the time.
Peppers freeze very easily, and keep for ages. I always have several kinds of chillis in the freezer. They're also easy to slice while still frozen, and no, they don't lose their heat.
Much better than the fridge.
Chillis freeze very well, and are more easily chopped frozen. I have in my freezer a bag each of Jamaican Hot Chocolate, Fatali (both ferociously hot), Scotch Bonnet, and green birdseye.

I would guess that if anything freezing by disrupting the cell structure would enhance the heat. Certainly cooked curries seem hotter from the freezer than freshly cooked ones.
