sellers property information pack
1 Answers
I am hoping to sell my house very shortly, but am worried about the sellers property information pack. Several months ago I wrote to the council to complain about a childrens play area that was built near to my house, I was complaining about the noise from the youths who congreagated there at night. This problem has now been successgully resolved - the reason I am selling is simply to acquire a bigger property. The SPIP asks me to disclose any such complaints to the council which I feel will jeopardise my chance of a sale. CAN I LEAVE THAT SECTION UNANSWERED - I do not intend to lie and leave myself open to litigation (though I see no reason why this should happen), If I leave this particular section blank - surely it will be a case of BUYER BEWARE. Any advice will be much appreciated!! Anna x

We had an offer on our house and our solicitor advised us to declare the dispute (but play it down) and state that the matter had been resolved. Unfortunately we didn't get to sell our house due to a break in the chain further on down. i would declare it if it has been resolved anyway, not worth the hassle if they find out! Good luck
