I'm having a problem with my phone line at the moment. We can't dial out or receive calls but we can still sign on to our broadband ok. I've tried unplugging all the phones and tried different phones in the main socket etc. The fault has been reported to BT but 3 days later & we're still waiting for them to sort it out. Anybody got any ideas?
go to your main socket, unscrew the socket and plug your phone to the outlet you find inside, see if this helps.
Got this from a BT engineer some time ago, he worked for me.
