enhanced crb
does anybody know if this would show on an enhanced crb check -
i went into police station for questioning and they arrested me as my name was involved, i never had to answer bail and my friend who was the main person involved got told it went no further as no evidence etc, police never contacted me back or anything and i never had to answer bail, i assume it was a arrest under caution?
i was only in an interview room with 1 police officer and she done my tape, i signed it and that was that
so would be great if anyone could shed any light on this, it was about 2 yrs ago??
thanks

Sorry to disagree with the other answers but it depends exactly how long ago this happened. I work for the Police and over the last couple of years arrests are now being shown on PNC even if you were not charged or convicted of an offence. These days, as soon as you are arrested you are given a CRO number on PNC which then stays on the system along with your details and details of the crime you were arrested for. I suggest you get your own CRB check done (10) via your local police station to confirm that you are not on the system.
Sorry if this isn't what you wanted to hear.

Wonderous-:
You say "These days, as soon as you are arrested you are given a CRO number on PNC which then stays on the system along with your details and details of the crime you were arrested for"
Shouldn't this read "alleged crime"? After all, the person was not charged and found guilty, and I hope the "innocent until proved guilty" principle still applies.
I know of cases - and there must be many - where people are arrested when they have not committed any offence. Is it really the case that all of these end up on police records and become entries on a CRB check? If so, it seems a gross misuse of police powers in my opinion.

Just because a person did not commit an offence does not mean that the offence did not occur. A person may be arrested for murder as they were seen running away from the scene dripping in blood. If it later transpires that person did not commit the offence but actually administered first aid and then got scared they would be accused of murder and so fled the scene, then they would be released without charge. In this respect, we would still have a crime as the murder still occurred, even if no one else is ever arrested and convicted.
People are definitely innocent until proven guilty, nothing has changed in this respect, certainly not in the Force/department I work in anyway. As for "gross misuse of police powers" - the information we store and they way that it is recorded is set down by the Home Office, we did not make this decision, we follow the rules given to us. On a personal note, I don't agree with it either.
The point of my previous answer is simple, arrested persons now show on PNC even if they are not charged. Whether this information would show on a CRB check I cannot say for definite as I've never had cause to request one. That is why I would suggest the OP obtain a CRB check for themselves so that they can be sure of exactly what is stored.

wounderous,
ill have what your saying. but i my answer was in relation to a crb check - they primarily look at prosecutions / cautions / convictions.
i think it very much depends upon your local procedure. it is my understanding that the cro (which is created by the pnc operators) is related to the first conviction. i have seen 'no conviction' pnc records in the past but when you look into them you invariably find that the body has had a caution in the dim and distant past. ive not seen a arrest history recorded on pnc.
if someone whos never been locked up before comes into custody you would create them on the local system and allocate the a srn (local id). pnc would reveal nothing for them. if they were then nfa'd you would send (as you would with all custody records) a copy to mancro (pnc operators) along with the descriptive(s). it is then upto that office to create them or not to create them on pnc depending upon policy. i can't see the point in creating such a person.
ive seen people known on the local but no pnc file.
i think it depends on were you work.
thanks.
