the online thing is cool- but only found out yesterday you have to pay monthly for the privilege.
30 for 3 months or something- mr bill gates must be p1ssing himself.
its not much but when you consider the cost of the xbox360 when it was released and microsofts overall profits globally they have made a killing off it.
basically was just after opinions so i can weigh pros and cons based on peoples personal opinions rather than some website....

personally i think u should go for the ps3, yes its more expensvie but when you consider your getting high def graphic games, the cheapest blu-ray player on the market, 60g of internal memory, wi-fi connectability to the internet , the ablitity to play ps2 games on it, the ability to use a psp as a controller and the sexiest design of all the next gen consoles; it starts to look pretty good.
Actually, it was recently revealed that the backwards compatbility of the Europe PS3s have been dramatically stripped-back, esp. in comparison to the Japanses and USA models. Basically, we're paying more for a lot less features.
Only 1000 or so PS2 games will be playable - which translates to around 45% of games.
30 for a year's subscription seems very reasonable to me.

No point in getting a PS3 yet, Id get an Xbox 360. There is a lot of hype about the PS3, with there being very little evidence that it's actually more powerful. Hardware developers always make lots of claims to hype up their machine, using clever jargon to make their machine sound great.
I'm not convinced that the PS3 is more powerful enough to make it any better. I hope I'm wrong, but early indications from reviews I've read about multi-format games the PS3 isn't graphically any better.
It's still too early to know which is better, for me the Xbox has more exclusive games, i.e. Halo, gears of war etc (that I like). GTA is now being released on all formats at the same time, so is no longer released on the playstation 1st.
I've had a 360 for nearly a year now and I'm really happy with it. If the PS3 turns out to be good and noticeably better than the 360, then I'll get one next year when their around 250.00.
Of course if youre a hardcore playstation nut (fan) with money to burn then none of the above matters.
