Take him to a vet.
Please do see another vet as soon as you possibly can. The answer you got from the vet hospital was not good enough. You do need proper advice urgently. Good Luck.
The other posters are right, you need to see another vet. It could be a psychcological problem, has anything strange happened recently?

I JUST HAD HIM AT HIS VET AND HE WASNT DOING IT AT THE TIME. NOTHING HAS HAPPENED RECENTLY TO SCARE HIM OR ANYTHING. I WILL TRY ANOTHER VET AS SOON AS POSSIBLE. MONEY IS AN ISSUE, AS I HAD TO COME UP WITH $700.00 ON THE VET HOSPITAL. BUT IM DOING EVERYTHING I CAN.
In the UK we have organisations that can help with vets bills called the pdsa and rspca. I am presuming your are from the States. It might be worth making enquiries. It could be a form of epilepsy or a neurological condition. I do hope you can sort it out.
A stroke could be a possibility, or perhaps some kind of ear infection, did the vet check his ears atall? I would definatly try and find out more. I know how frustrating it is when the vet cant tell you what is wrong with your dog and you still have to splash out a huge sum of money. Good luck and please let us know the outcome
When dogs and cats sway and look from side to side and show the symptons you described, it's usually stress or mental problems. Take the doggy to a pet therapist or behaviourist.
