Will I be able to used my Laptop in Scotland during a visit?
My connection at home is Broadband via a Router.

Yes, if you can find a signal to connect to.

Many hotels, bars, stations and so on have wifi hotspots, which you normally have to pay to use. You pay online with a credit or debit card.

Or you may be able to connect to an unsecured wifi signal - if you can find one.

Depends if the laptop is wireless enabled or not. If it is then Ethel's answer is correct.
If it's not a wireless laptop then I suggest buying a PCMCIA Wireless network card to solve future issues.

Cowboy - it was a joke! I remembered an anecdote about an American who 'phoned a Scottish hotel where they were intending to stay, to ask if they had television in Scotland.

But whether or not it was invented by Baird is somewhat arguable - his system of spinning wheels bore as much resemblance to what finally came to be called television as the original phonograph did to a CD, and I've never heard it claimed that Edison invented the CD player.
