Every year (or every 25 000 km) or in case of presence of pollutants, the circuit of brake fluid must be completely changed drained away by following the instructions of the car-manufacturer.

Every 4 years or every 36,000 miles whichever comes first, taken from my service schedule for my car.

Check your service book for your car.

Every year or 25,000 km seems very excessive.
