I just wondered if there was anywhere like charities, support groups, financial support from the uni? i dont know how to go about it or anything?

If you are studying full-time you'll be entitled to funding from your Local Education Authority which I think will be given in installments through out the year and its the same for part-time students but they are not entitled to that much compared to full-timers. They'll just get one lump sum.
have a look at Nottingham Uni's website and find the Financial Support pages: http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/student-support/

Uni's often offer scholarships, access funds or hardship loans available to both UK and overseas students.
Hi princess2401, I see from your previous post that you are going to be doing nursing. In Scotland every student is given a non-means tested bursary, everyone gets the same except if they are over 26 they get slightly more and also additional finance for any dependents. I dont know what the case is in England but I imagine it must be similar otherwise everyone would be flocking to Scotland to do their training! The university should be able to give advice on this matter.
Not sure if my above post was clear, my remarks about the bursaries are in relation to nursing courses only.
