Leg amputation
11 Answers
Im sure you have all read at some point the things that have gone on with our litter of kittens.
We have a check up tomorrow but the kittens back leg is still about 5 times the size it should be & very very purple, so we know it is likely to need it amputated.
Just wondering if any one knows how much this will cost? I am not worried about the price, we are already tightening our budget to prepare for it, but neither of us get paid til the 30th, and just would like some idea of wht to expect?

Ive seen a couple of cats with a leg missing it seemed ok dont think it would be able to climb though.

Tbh, 150 or so is alot less then i was thinking,
Unfortunately Mrknowall, it is highly likely the leg will have to come off, at the vets saturday morning he said it did not look good at all and the leg has not improved. We are giving the little one antibiotics twice a day to prevent any infection, but the swelling has not gone down at all and it is still a very nasty purple colour, there is still also a very deep indention arond the leg where the kitten was knotted up :(
We are going to keep the little one whatever happens though so i know it wlll get the very best love & attention.
