Same birthday (rephrased)

What are the odds of two children having the same birthday? My son and daughter were born on the same day but three years apart. I don't think it's as simple as 1 in 365.

I have sat next to the same guy at concert band for three or four years. Last year, I mentioned that I wouldn't be at practice one week because it was my birthday and I was going out. He said, "Me too." We discovered that not only do we share a birthday, we're exactly the same age (plus, of course, we play the same instrument).
However, we're not long lost twins, because I was born at a hospital in Leicester, and he was born at his family home in Nottinghamshire.

Hi
It is 1 in 365. The second child being born could be on any day of the year, so it is a 1 in 365 chance of being born on the same day.
If however you want to work out the likelihood of the two children being born on a specified date (specified before the birth of the first child) it would be 1 in 133225 (365*365)

I know it is not siblings but my mother-in-law and i have the same birthbay,my husband's gran and my brother had the same b'day, my father-in-law, my aunt and other aunt's brother-in-law all have the same b'day. None of the are in the same year. Also guy I used to work with and his sister same b'day; three years apart.
Their birthdays being on the same day simply means you concieved on the same day each time - work out what day is exactly 40 weeks previous to their birthday. You'll probably find it's an anniversary or special occasion!!
My youngest child turned out to be concieved on our wedding day, when we worked it out!!

I have friends (sisters) born on the same day 4 years apart.
Also my niece and nephew to 2 different sisters were born on 9th and 10th September but in different countries - they were only born about 2 hrs apart but with the time difference they would have been born on the same day (one year apart).
My mum and her grandson were born on the same day too.
PS I was born on the same day as my sister - but we are twins - guess that doesn't count!
Maybe it's something to do with women's bio rhythms, or as they say the time of year.
