What to do?
in 1999, I had a baby and did not know at the time who the father was. I know that this is sensitive to some people, but, being young and dumb was my lifestyle at the time. I let my boyfriend at the time sign my daughter's birth certificate. Well in 2001, the other guy asked a question after he saw her at a wedding reception and asked me if she was his child. I told him the only way to know for sure is a paternity test. i got that done, and it turned out that he was actually the father. Now, I have explained to the other guy, who is no longer my boyfriend (we broke up in 2000), but, i do not know if it is a simple way, or if we all have to come to court just to get his name removed? If I can show that he was not the father of the child will the process be easier? Showing an actual paternity test from 2002? He has never paid me any type of support, and, he has not had contact with the child from when she 2 years old, she is now 8.
