Anyone know what the song or the artists are in the new Lincoln Navigator TV ad? 'Kinda sounds like session musicians improvisiing on "Sleepwalk" to me.

Basically just confirms what you thought - Lincoln wanted Sleepwalk by Santo and Johnny but didn't want to pay royalties so they did a copycat version.

Thanks Kaarina! I've played guitar for years, and started out with guys covering Ventures hits and other 60s "Surf" music. I used Apple's iTunes archives and listened to all the surf tunes I could find, especially "Sleepwalk". Nothing sounded like the Lincoln add., but listening carefully, I could tell that it was a melodic improvisation on the "Sleepwalk" chord progression. It was a very clever job of dancing around the tune - melodic and very catchy - something that session musicians aren't usually very good at. 'Great artistry, and a great add!
Congrats to the musicians - whoever they are.
