Looks do mean something. But all women have different ideals of what a good looking man looks like. My sisters think I always go for ugly men. ( you should see their husbands!) eeek...

leg_end.......I feel sorry for these young girls of today.......their b/fs spend more time in the gents toilets these days......pruening themselves.......lol
back in the day......a man would go for a slash.....end of.....lol.......
Sid James was ugly, but a lot of fun.

I am sure many women found him attractive because they enjoyed themsleves in his company.

Barbara Windsor did.
A good personality can build an attraction, just as a nasty personality can draw out an ugliness in someone :(

*hiya stranger btw hope your well :)*

If you are good looking then you have the initial advantage of being eye catching, which is just the reality of the situation. Therefore, a good looker, will be 'fancied' initially on their looks alone, which is another reality.
However, after the physical admiration has worn off, then the personality is all we have left, so it is not a good idea to be swept away by looks alone!
My friend's mother always said "Don't be swayed by looks, they're all bald and fat by 40!"
I also remember hearing a tale told by Mick Hucknall (now he is ugly!) He said that he was going out with a fabulous gorgeous looking model and was completely swept away by her beauty. One day, he was listening to her having a bitchy conversation on the phone to her friend...so he dedicated the track "You're beautiful but boring" to her ... and dumped her!

It's about either, neither or both. It's about chemistry, clicking with someone. There are a whole manner of scenarios. Most of them have been documented on here. Basically if someone just doesn't do it for you it could be about anything. It's a package thing.
My first husband isn't a good looker. In fact he is downright ugly, and I always thought that!

However, we were great friends and he made me laugh like a drain. He ended the marriage, so it wasn't as if I saw the light and left him for a more aesthetic model ;o)

Mr P MKII is incredibly handsome, but I didn't actually think that first..he made me laugh too, which attracted me first. We spoke on the phone for months before we met, and I fell in love with him without meeting him in the flesh..although we did know each other as kids, so I did have some inkling as to what he looked like.

When was a teenager I knew a guy who could literally charm the pants off girls because of his personality.
