Hi there,

I got caught using my mobile whilst driving - my own fauly, apparently loud speaker isnt allowed either :(

Anyhow - i got my fixed penalty slip (pink slip) with my fine on it etc......

then today - the policemand had sent me a personal letter:

- no frank, a 1st class stamp
- handwriteen letter and envelope
- not recorded delivery

this had a new fixed penalty slip, with a note saying "please disregard the old one"

however, in comparisson - i noticed the one i was issued with at the scene - did not have a box for how many points i should get on my licence - the new one does.

here do i stand with this? I plan to pay using the old form, get a receipt, and then hopefully not pick up any points.

many thanks,
Neil

The law states a fixed penalty and three points. You shouldn't have been using your phone in the first place. Pay up, take the points and don't do it again.
