How can it possibly cost �50 to convert a normal mobile phone to an "emergency" phone (which dials 999 whatever button you press)?

It was shown on a Red Nose Day segment....it looks like a nornal phone..but is used for vunerable woman who are experiecing domestic abuse

I thought the same and would love to know who's making the money out of that one !

I could do it for her for nothing. Get a PAYG and replace every speedial with 999 - it's that simple. She wouldn't need to look at it just hold down anyone of the keys for more than a second and it would phone 999.
