men swearing and shouting

why do some men swear and shout at their partners? Is it a control thing?

It may be that they are frustrated with something and are taking it out on their partner. they should tell their partner not to talk to them like it. it may be a control thing too - trying to make their partner have low self esteem and think they do not deserve better.

more than likely a control thing, or that they just can't help it.
A friend of mine used to keep referring to his partner as his 'b*tch'. The marriage lasted 1 months.

I never asked my ex why he did but i know it was because he was a bully and wanted to control me, i could'nt wear make-up and had to dress like a tomboy and he even wanted me to cut my family off! He was violent and when he was in that frame of mind his expression changed and he metamorphosised into a monster and i was petrified and i am a fiery person!
He used to call me W*ore all the time and other names even though it turned out later, when i was pregnant with our second baby, that i found out he was having an affair with his ex!!
So now i'm alone with 2 young children, 3 yrs and 4 weeks old but i'd rather be this way than live with someone like him, i love my independance and the fact that i run my home and no-one can say a thing.

swear back and shout back if necessary. no one should be treated badly its up2 u to explain in man terms its not ok to do this. unfortunately shouting is the only way to get thgrough to some men x my sympathy x

Dont know the answer to this. My ex husband shouted, swore and verbally abused me for 20 years whenever I pi**ed him off, the traffic was bad, the alarm clock didnt go off, his clothes weren't laid out ready, his car wouldnt start ... you get the picture.

I put up with it for far too long, my kids heard and saw it and grew up seeing this lack of respect. One of my boys shouts and swears when angered. The other doesn't.

My ex was spoilt by his mum and then I allowed it to continue into adult life. It could be that spoilt little boy throwing teddy out of pram thing but it gets very boring when it continues long into adulthood.

If he is going to do it, give as good as you get, be proud and dont let him grind you down.
