Although I brought up the subject of group therapy on a posting it was not to get answers, but to see how others were doing. It has been a kind of unwritten rule not to ask for clue or answers until closer to the closing date. There are though always a few that do get asked about early and are answered by those who do not follow this rule. It is completely up to the individuals concerned, but most of us try to solve the puzzle ourselves. Hope this answers your question.

It answers my question somewhat Teacher.
However it is QUITE CLEAR I did not ask for an answer here.........I asked if anyone had got this particular answer.
There does seem some question I'm sad to say on what is acceptable here.
It seems "fine" for instance that you can be signposted the "fowl" answer for 49, but it is frowned upon for anyone to ask for help!
Double standards abound here..............and I at first thought this was a good and friendly place.

Athough, on my original posting, I mentioned I could do with help, I still have no idea what the answer is and will not ask until shortly before the closing date. I also realised you had asked if anybody had the answer, not that you wanted it. This is a " good and friendly " place and I hope it stays this way.

To answer your original question, Beth - Yes.
To follow on from teacher1s explanation: this is the fifth of these quizzes that I've done and the first one where a hint has been given before the quiz has been out a month and a half or so. I don't think there's any intentional holding of double standards going on but that it was just a 'blip'.
Thinking that it was just a chat about how people were doing, I did look at teacher1s thread. If I hadn't already found the particular answer in question, I would have been upset to find a hint that I didn't want to see (no offence intended, gen2).
I suspect that other people also feel they want to solve as much as possible of this quiz themselves - hence the norm being not to discuss particular answers (as opposed to discussing progress in general) before a certain time. Otherwise it is very easy to inadvertently look at an answer that you don't want to see .
Sorry this is a bit long-winded and hope it makes sense.
