Winning bidder offered iPod to me onEbay

I need some advice please. I was bidding on a 4gb iPod nano on Ebay. The winning bidder got it for �69.00 (2 pounds above my final bid). I just got an e-mail from him saying that in haste, he thought it was a different colour and didn't really want it so offered it to me for my last bidding price and 2 quid postage. He has 100% positive feedback so I don't think he is pulling a fast one but I'm not sure whether to accept his offer. Should I say yes but make a smaller offer?

Also, having thought about it, does anyone think �67 is about right for a used iPod nano or is that too much? Answers very much appreicated!

I have no idea how much ipods are. I do know that offering underbidders the chance to buy is one of the most common scams on ebay.

If you pay him and he doesn't send the goods, you have absolutely no support from either eBay or PayPal.

You can't leave feedback in these circumstances - he could have ripped hundreds of people off and you would know nothing about it.

The only way I would consider such an offer would be if the seller listed it as a BIN on eBay, so I could buy through eBay and pay with PayPal.

Only accept this sort of offer from the original seller. This often happens when the winner withdraws or the seller has a duplicate. this is legal and the transaction is through Ebay.

Tell him to stuff it he is trying to rip you off , he was probably the first bidder trying to get the final price up .

i dont know how much there cost it go's via how much you want to pay for it aswell you should look at the o ther ipods to see how much there gofor you have been offerd a second chance offer? because you were not the winning bidder you do not have to buy it hope that helps

good idea giving it a miss, there's no doubt that the winner of the item was the sellers mate trying to get the price up. damn scammers!! tell him to stuff it!

4 gigs cost around �130
So you are a saving
It does sound as if he or a friend was pushing the price up
They are allowed by ebay rules to give someone a second chance offer if a bidder pulls out.
The only trouble buying at auction on line you cant see the item with you own eyes.
I have bought a couple of items only find out at a later date they were faulty.

100% feedback doesnt really say everthing check the other items he is selling and the one's sold for around �67

very very dodgy here first of all mrknowall is right they are around �130 and �69 inc postage seems to good to be true and you know what the golden rule is on e bay "if an offer seems to good to be true then it aint genuine"
